FACT
Living out of campus has plenty of disadvantages for student-athletes, however almost all of them are moving out of Jester dorm. The reason is because they are unsatisfied with the conditions of Jester. If you consider that every year around 80-85% of male athletes move out of Jester they complains might not baseless.
The fact that last year 11 out of 14 swimmers moved out is simply shocking if you consider that they have four 6 a.m. work-outs a week throughout the entire year. It means, they undertook that they will wake up four times a week at 4:45 instead of 5:30 a.m. Besides the 45 minutes they lose plenty of times every day with traveling between their place and the campus.
I was talking to 18 sophomores who left campus last year.14 of them said that they would rather live on campus (because they know what a big advantage it is) but according to them Jester is not appropriate for athletes. It means there is a need from athletes to find a convenient place to stay on campus.
