After a short "holiday", hopefully I'll start to write the 3rd assignment today. Actually I'm kind of bored of the courses and waiting for the end of the semester to go back home, Cyprus... :) But I know we have another month of courses and moreover "THE FINALS". But anayway, I hope I'll survive...
My third assignment topic is quite interesting; "Are cancer treatments clinical trials?" and I guess I will enjoy it if I somehow manage to start :). I've done a little bit of research and I have to do a little bit more before starting. I'm planning to write a rough draft this afternoon.
That's all for now...

I've just finished the final revision of essay 2. But I'll read it again later this afternoon before posting it on the web. I believe that I've responded the feedback and the revised version is better that the first one. I have enjoyed a lot while working on this essay and I hope that the next one will also be interesting despite the fcat that my very first impression is just the opposite. Anyway, I have to do it as well... :) I am now thinking about a topic for the 3rd assignment but I don't have anything in my mind right now. Hopefully, I'm gonna find a nice topic before the class.
C y'all tomorrow...
After 4 tiring days of hard work, I have completed the first draft of my second paper. I tried to do my best and I hope that the paper won't need any further revision or change (or at most, a few minor ones) because I have a busy schedule next week full of exams and assignments of other courses.
This causal argument was a nice experience for me. I think I get the idea of how to do efficient search on web which will be a useful skill in the future. I believe that addition of some "physical" sources together with electronic sources would have been really nice and increase the credibility but there isn't any books or articles about the EU and Cyprus in the UT library. But I think, the reader should also pay attention that the author has a deep knowledge of the topic he is talking about.
That's all for now...

After completing the first assignment, now I am working on the second one without finding a chance to have a break :). The topic I've chosen is too broad and it takes a lot of time to research and find relevant information. The topics I am looking for are mostly recent issues, so electronic medium seems to be the dominating source of information for my argument. Till now, I've spent more than three hours in front of the computer just to detect the relevant websites where I can get useful info and enrich and support my assigment. It seems that I can write as long as I want so I won't have any problem about fulfilling the minimum lenght requirement. As the next step; this weekend I'll start to organize my essay and write the very first draft. Of course, I have had a rough outline for the essay in my mind on which I based my research; but things change when you start writing down. I can say that the next two days work will determine the "shape" of the assigment as a whole. I am excited about the topic and hoping to produce something that you will enjoy to read.
That's all for now...
Hi;
After spending significant amount of time and effort on the first essay,
we, as a group, have submitted the final version today. I believe that it was a good experinece for me as I got the chance to actively use the skills I've learnt in the rhetoric course so far. I think that we ended up with a nice work, and I expect a nice result in turn.
I have decided on my next essay topic and now it is time to start working on the next assignment which I believe is more interesting than the first one was.
That's all from me...

Hi;
I've chosen the following topic as my next assignmetn topic:
"Possible outcomes of an EU (European Union) membership"
I will discuss whether it is good for countries to join EU or not. The essay will include an anaylsis of potential outcomes of an EU membership i.e. benefits, regulations, limitations, privacy&independence issues etc...
(My home country, Cyprus, has joined EU in last May after a long discussion period. The same issue is being discussed in neighbouring Turkey, with which Turkish Cypriots have cultural similarities. Turkey is a current candidate for EU membership. Since I have actively been in that discussion period, I think I've enough information for such a topic.)
See you tomorrow...
Halil
