Boynton's "The Tyranny of Copyright?"

In "The Tyranny of Copyright?", Boynton discusses the absurdity of recent legislation of copyright laws which are causing the United to states to become "less free and ultimately less creative". In his discussion, Boynton tells us the manipulation of this legislation by large corporations such as Diebold lead to outrageous laws such as the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, which will "erode our democratic freedom" in the name of "foiling piracy". After searching Google, I found various websites such as why-war.com which provide an enormous amount of information and proof on why the students of Swarthmore College vs. Diebold Election Systems is an ideal example that shows exactly how ludicrous these digital copyright laws are. I was able to find a complete organized archive on a Berkeley student's website although aside from this source the majority of others were no longer able to be found on the server. Each site provided overwhelming evidence of the corruption of the Diebold Election Systems and made it quite obvious that these systems could greatly harm the democracy of the nation, yet the company is still protected by these new and unfit copyright laws. This search adds overwhelming evidence to Boynton's discussion on the benefits of using Copy Left which would allow proper legal action to be taken in instances such as this.
