Professional website with portfolio
This project will be a showcase of each student's web development skills. Students will create, update, and manage a professional site that contains a bio, photos, academic interests and, among other things, a portfolio of their graphic and Web designs created in the class.

Individual CSS design
In this project students will be working with the HTML code and style sheets provided for graphic designers at the CSS Zen Garden. The HTML and CSS backbones are provided; the only difference will be the attributes associated with each CSS element.
Deliverables: final CSS design (March 20)
Team redesign project
As part of an ongoing service learning project, students will work in teams to redesign a website, Resnet. The work will involve content and structure decisions along with a complete visual redesign.
Deliverables:
- Site inventory and analysis -
communication brief (March 27), content inventory & audit (March 29), site map & content delivery plan (Apr 3) - Individual sketches (Apr 5) and site prototype (Apr 12)
- Final redesign and presentation (Apr 24)
Daily assignments
Students will be expected to submit daily assignments on many class days. All assignments are due by class time. Forums are to be submitted on the course website; Photoshop lessons need to be submitted in Blackboard. Descriptions of each assignment are linked off of the calendar and in the list below:
- Student account and profile (Jan 18)
- Usability forums: page usability (Jan 23), content usability (Jan 25), site usability (Jan 30)
- Accessibility forums: my mouse-less experience (Feb 8) and images and ALT text (Feb 13)
- Photoshop lessons 1, 3, 4, 6, 9, 11, 13, and 15 (due dates in calendar)
